As a center of expertise in mental health, Les Toises - Psychiatry and Psychotherapy Center offers post-graduate training (doctor-assistants) as well as continuing education for healthcare professionals.

Post-graduate training | Physician-assistants

Certified as a category B post-graduate training center, it welcomes post-graduate students for a minimum period of 2 years in general psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry and psychiatry of the elderly.

Students join a team and are supervised by the psychiatrist in charge of the unit. They enjoy the same benefits as Les Toises staff, i.e. active participation in team meetings, the possibility of clinical intervisions and access to continuing education seminars and conferences.

Continuing education

Continuing education enables therapists to update their knowledge and develop their professional skills. Aimed at both Les Toises staff and external practitioners, it is defined by the excellence of its offerings and by the opportunities for dialogue around multiple approaches in a convivial setting.

Throughout the year, therapists can take part in conferences, intervisions, supervisions, colloquia, seminars and Journal Club on topics related to psychiatry and psychotherapy. External training courses are announced in the agenda.

The training offer

The conferences

Throughout the year, Les Toises welcomes prestigious speakers to provide training courses for both experienced and trainee practitioners. These talks focus on a current theme and are followed by a moderated debate with the speaker.

The general symposium

Four times a year, the general symposium sets the pace for the life of Les Toises. It brings together all staff members. A time for sharing and presenting projects, whatever the field (organizational, medical, IT, scientific, etc.), the colloquium, thanks to the participation of employees from all our facilities, enables us to meet in an atmosphere that is as studious as it is convivial.

Weekly clinical meeting

Les Toises is organized into consultation and care units. The care team of each unit meets weekly for clinical dialogue. This space for work and reflection provides an opportunity for clinical presentations and confrontations. A highlight of institutional work, this moment constitutes a privileged didactic exchange for the training of assistants and junior practitioners.

The modules

Training modules provide the latest medical, scientific and psychotherapeutic data. They are taught by a recognized expert in the field, who conducts an exhaustive study on a specific, limited subject. Using a variety of media (videos, film extracts or articles), the modules are a time for theoretical and clinical elaboration. A specific theme is explored in four to six sessions over the course of the year.

Intervisions

Intervision, as a form of training, offers staff members the opportunity to deepen their knowledge and refer their thinking to other professionals. The diversity and expertise of the practitioners working at Les Toises means that, at the request of each individual, we can offer high-quality intervision in a wide variety of fields: ADHD, psychotraumatology, CBT, psychoanalysis, child psychology, adolescent psychology, psychology of the elderly, addictology, neuropsychology, and so on. These peer-to-peer encounters enable participants to engage in clinical reflection on complex situations, ask questions about analysis, and read texts. Formalized into cycles and groups on a particular theme, these exchanges are invaluable for training and are open to external practitioners.

Le Journal Club

The Journal Club is particularly aimed at physicians and psychologists-assistants, and helps structure a presentation around scientific advances. Physician-assistants present, analyze and critique scientific articles in their field of interest. Under the responsibility of the department head, this formative and didactic activity fosters the spirit of research and curiosity according to one's practice orientation.
